The first Ultimate Fighting Championship event was held on November 12, 1993 at McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado. Four years later, at UFC 12, weight classes were introduced: lightweight, for those 199 pounds and under and heavyweight, for fighters 200 pounds and above. That night Mark Coleman defeated Dan Severn to become the promotion's first Champion.
Today, there are12 weight divisions in the UFC -- eight for men, four for women. While UFC fighters may come and go, the champions will always be remembered in the history books, and a big reason why collecting their rookie cards and 1st Autograph cards is so popular.
